A4U Awards - Should I Enter?

Should I bother enter the "Best Affiliate Blog of 2008" or shouldn't I as it'll go to the blog with with the greatest number of readers and who plaster "vote for me" all over it?
Or should I enter in the belief that'll be judged on merit and I can be assured that when I loose, it would have been a fair contest?
By the way, my vote would go to either Paul or Fraser as they raise real issues, affecting real affiliates and don't use it merely as a way to masturbate their ego. Just my opinion.

Hi Lee,
I voted last time for people that I felt deserved it. I know the system has changed this year I'm still not sure the outspoken, tell it like it is bloggers probably still won't get the award as they're a bit too controversial.
Jules
"...don't use it merely as a way to masturbate their ego..."
+1 ;-)
No. You've got a typo in this post :)
I don't know the contest. But i think that if anyone wants to be taken seriously for such a competition then they would have to judge it on quality over quantity.
Hi Lee,
Yes, I think you should enter.
I agree Fraser and Paul contribute something to the blogosphere.
I think, giving totally honest feedback, that this blog can suffer on update frequency - but the content is usually strong,
Matthew
As you didn't mention my blog - no I don't think you should enter as I don't like your blog now ;o)
But seriously... why not - I think you have a good writing style, interesting posts, say it as it is, and only rarely miss out references to One Little Duck!
I'm off to tug my ego now!
Jason
Damn, I how could I forget about you Jason!
I just wished you posted more. But I suppose fantastic posts infrequently is better than frequent crap ones!
Are you entering?
I'm not entering in that I'm not nominating myself, but if one of my two readers decided to take the time to nominate me then cool ;o)
And if that doesn't happen then I'm tactically avoiding nomination so that everyone has a better chance!
Jason
Theres a lot of blogs out there that seem to rehash other blogs/stories or are just vacuous rants.
Best blogs are ones where you feel youve learnt something or got a new idea/insight.
So yes you should enter as many of your blogs (OK not this one!) contain a lot of good information.
I think you should enter Lee, I always enjoy what you have to say, no matter which side of the argument you are on, you give a refreshing unbiased account.
Have you noticed how it's still predominantly the old boys / old hands like yourself including the Limo Club who are still at the core of confronting, blogging & tackling issues within the industry. So where is the so called new era?
